Clinton: Democracy Key to Economic Growth

"We want to help build an open, stable and just regional order in the Asia-Pacific based on norms and institutions that benefit all nations and all peoples," she said.
Washington's so-called Asia pivot has been seen warily by China, especially the realignment of U.S. military forces and calls for greater civil liberties.
In a speech to the International Women's Leadership Forum in the Mongolian capital, Secretary Clinton did not mention China by name. Instead, she compared authoritarian rule with political progress in Taiwan, Burma, Thailand, the Philippines and East Timor.

The German Supreme Court Is Going To Make A Decision That Will Make The Obamacare Drama Look Like Child's Play
A hearing at Germany's version of the Supreme Court, to be held on July 10, could destroy all the optimism from the last EU summit.
In the wake of the European summit last Friday, the German legislature finally approved the European Stability Mechanism—a permanent European bailout fund.
However, the Constitutional Court (in German, the Bundesverfassungsgericht) could now issue an injunction against the ESM if it finds that the mechanism impinges upon the sovereignty of the German state.
Der Spiegel explains the issue:
The plaintiffs, who oppose Germany transferring more power to European institutions, are trying to obtain a temporary injunction against the two laws to stop them entering into force until the court has addressed the main complaints against the measures at a later date and ruled whether the laws in question are constitutional. It is highly unusual for the court to hold a hearing on requests for a temporary injunction. The fact that it is doing so is regarded as a sign of the importance of the issue.
German President Joachim Gauck has already permitted the Court to investigate the matter, which led to a delay for the program by at least three weeks. Further delays could be longer, or could even complete overrule the legislation despite approval by the German legislature.
This is not the first time that the German Constitutional Court has threatened to smash plans for European institutions. Last fall, it examined the legality of the Greek bailout, ultimately upholding the measure.

Mainstream Economist: We Might Need to Hang Some Bankers to Stop Criminal Looting
Even Nouriel Roubini Says We Need to Jail or Hang Some Bankers
Nobel prize winning economist Joe Stiglitz – and many other experts – have said nothing will change unless dishonest bankers are jailed.
Former trader Max Keiser has been calling for years for crooked bankers to be hanged, to send a message that crime won’t be tolerated.
But Nouriel Roubini is a lot more mainstream than Keiser – or even Stiglitz – being very close to Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner. See this and this.
Roubini told Bloomberg that nothing has changed since the start of the financial crisis, and we might need to throw bankers in jail – or hang them in the streets – before they’ll change:
Nobody has gone to jail since the financial crisis. The banks, they do things that are illegal and at best they slap on them a fine. If some people end up in jail, maybe that will teach a lesson to somebody. Or somebody hanging in the streets.

Clinton warns time running out to save Syria
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Sunday warned time was running out to save Syria from a "catastrophic assault" after international envoy Kofi Annan admitted his peace mission was failing.
The comments by the top US diplomat came as 15 people, including 12 civilians, were killed across the country, according to a rights watchdog.
"It should be abundantly clear to those who support the Assad regime their days are numbered," Clinton told reporters on the sidelines of a conference on Afghanistan in Tokyo.
But she acknowledged that efforts, led by the United Nations and Arab League envoy Annan, to get the regime of President Bashar al-Assad to halt its brutal crackdown on the opposition were proving difficult.
Annan himself in an interview with the French daily Le Monde said his six-point plan to end hostilities in Syria had not been successful so far, and there was no guarantee it would bear fruit.
Creedence Clearwater Revival Have You Ever Seen The Rain?

Greetings and Salutations;
Now this is a man, who fought for years to get control of his own music again and play it, he finally won and is performing. In certain ways, the people involved with these prosperity programs, have hung in there for years, continually fighting to get it done, now they have succeeded. Oh, it took extra ordinary power and influence to do it, but a success, none the less. Love is the most powerful force in the universe, no matter how evil tries to assert itself, in the end it always loses to Love. Unconditional love allows you to figure it out, smack your head against a brick wall until you 'give up' and surrender. So, it was fitting, the final release and signing occurred in reno nevada by a woman, no bigger than minute. A world came together for it and all signed accordingly for their own, telling the one uninvited guest, NO, the time is Now, not 6 months from now, so you can start the mess up again. What a full moon! What you resist will always persist. Time for the world to move on.
Doubt is a killer, fear likewise, and you who have been called crazy, 'it' will never happen are among the victorious. The small quiet voice that prodded you forward has proven itself, while it held you up in the darkest moments going forward in life, when the walls felt the most insurmountable and your dreams, pure fantasy. The dark actually served you by making you stronger so, bless them, as they head to the karmic justice. Justice is being served and you will continue to see it done with your own eyes. The best ways to get things done are not necessarily held in killing or murder. That just holds justice in abeyance to come back later in another form tho it may take years. We're still cleaning up things from the civil war, and the world wars. They didn't end when the papers were signed. No, somebody was sitting back there 'figuring' how to overcome a loss, in quiet rooms, as mr romney would say.
Unprecedented events are about to unfold, that will shock the world and especially americans. The meaning of true freedom will be one of them. This ends the plutocracy, which has run america since 1871. The howling has just begun, 'tis the opposite of what took place in 1929, it will be 'them' who say, 'brother can you spare a dime?' Maybe you too will say, 'get away from me, I never knew you'. Somethings are worse than death. Nothing like a 'living' hell..try to shoot yourself and end it and the gun goes 'click'. Money can't buy you love...it can only get you some 'like'. There's much more I'd really like to say but, it wouldn't be prudent so, I'll end this by saying 'all power and glory to the most highest' and let that suffice. What you do with this boon is up to you, act like you have two cents in your head. You're entering a new world, ask if you don't know. Assume nothing, we have floating cars now. Of course you need need magnetic stuff in the highway for it to work.
